“
The Faithful Consumer” is a monthly
column written for those who want to connect faith and the environment,
but in a real, practical way,
not in an unworkable, idealistic way. At the end of each column look
for the tip which tells you, the reader, a specific way to reduce
your impact
upon the environment. (Think somewhere between Hints from Heloise and
Aldo Leopold.)

The column is authored by WICEC's Board Member Sarah Streed. Sarah has
a B.A. from Wheaton College in Literature and an M.F.A. in Creative Writing
from the University of Arizona. Her book Leaving the House of Ghosts
was published by McFarland & Company. She also wrote free-lance for
the Wisconsin State Journal, which turned out to be good preparation
for writing a monthly column. Currently, she lives in Stoughton with
her husband and their children.
